By Valerie Edwards For Dailymail. A video of a man spanking a little boy and yelling at a young girl in public has sparked outrage among viewers on Twitter who have called the incident abuse. In the footage, which went viral on social media, the man is seen bending the boy over a folding chair and slapping his bottom six times. He then sits the child upright in the chair and walks over to a little girl who was sitting beside him.
O nce upon a time there was a little baby girl. She smiled at everyone. She soon slept through the night and rarely cried. Her mother even had to wake her up to feed her. So the mother spanked her. And spanked her again. And she spanked the little baby girl until the crying stopped.

Spanking looks to be instantly effective. If a child is misbehaving—if he keeps swearing, or playing with matches—and then you spank that child, the behavior stops immediately. The effect is so apparently obvious that it can drive a sort of delusion. Lived experience tends to be more powerful than facts. One of the few memories that many people retain from early childhood is times they were spanked.
